Teddy Picker

I was quite disappointed to learn today that, according to urbandictionary.com, a 'teddy picker' is 'a machine found at carnivals and fun-fairs, where one moves a robotic arm to pick up toys or in this case, a teddy bear.'

Hmmm, I thought it might have had a more interesting meaning, something to do with Teddy Boys perhaps or, as Deb speculated, something to do with Teddy underwear, but no. Ah well, despite having heard the song about a squillion times on the radio, I still think it sounds brilliant!!

Give the video 40seconds to kick in to the song proper!!

My ex-girlfriend from college, the one who I blogged about as being my faux ex-girlfriend, lives in London and is craaaazy about the Arctic Monkeys. I think they're OK. I like that guitar riff a lot, but the song just doesn't do much for me.

Sounds a bit like the Jam, whom I love. =+)

I've never even heard of the term before. So THAT's what it means, eh?

Teddy underwear? HI HI HI HI HI HI...

Btw, the song sounds good, but I liked the last one better than this he he he he...maybe 'coz I'm in the mood for slower types of song ha ha ha...

Anyway, have a FAB weekend! ;-D

Hey Ha Ha, I like 'em - I wouldn't say I'm crazy about 'em, but I like 'em. You should give 'The Enemy' a whirl if you like The Jam, they're practically a tribute band :-)

Hi Amel, between you and me I think they made the term up. So, do you know those all in one lingerie body things that used to be popular a decade or 2 ago? That was also known as a 'teddy' for some reason. Hope you have a fab weekend too :-)

haha. I hate those things (the carnival gizmos)

I much prefer the carnival things where you have to hit the things that pop up. Mark has just informed me they are called 'Whackamoles'. I am brilliant at that game.

thanks for the video. Mark thought they sounded like David Bowie. Are they British? I like the mod beat.

I object to their hipster looks but if they're British, for some reason, I don't mind so much. They're allowed!

Hi Kitty, I hate the 'teddy picker' game too, I'm far better at 'hook-a-duck' :-)

The Arctic Monkeys are British, they're from Sheffield. Funny you think they have a hipster look, they dress pretty much like every other 20-odd year old blokes in Britain :-)

Ohhhh...so they made the term up? No wonder then!!!

So that kind of lingerie was called "teddy"? Interesting he he...I never really knew much about lingerie 'coz I think in Indo lingerie has only been booming for the past few years he he he...
