Kathleen Turner just gave me the once over

I think she was admiring my cardigan. I admit, it is very nice. I get a lot of compliments on it. It's a sea foam green Cynthia Rowley number that I got for $40 (bargain) at a sample sale.

Kids, I am ON FIRE with my celeb spots at the moment. First Tim Robbins and now Kathleen, a legend of stage and screen. I didn't twig who it was at first. I recognised her, but I returned her smile because I thought she must be someone I knew from the office - I was right outside the building. Then I realised who it was. She looks different in jeans.

Isn't it weird how you don't always connect where you know celebrities from, but assume you must know them as their faces are so familiar. A friend of mine once greeted Noel Gallagher like a long lost friend when she saw him on Oxford St, in London some years ago - this was at the height of Oasis' fame. She said to him "Oh my God, how are you? I haven't seen you in ages. How have you been?"

Noel apparently played along and told her he'd been doing well and that it was good to see her too.

She walked about 10feet before realising he wasn't some random acquaintance from her local pub. She said she felt like a complete idiot for the rest of the day :-)

Just think...you might actually attain fame and stardom through osmosis with all these celebs you are bumping into!

There's a lady who lives opposite to me who looks like Thora Hird on a motorised scooter. Does that count?!

Northwich isn't really famous for anyone. Although we do produce an awful lot of salt. And as any Brit knows, salt is very important on your fish and chips!

Thora Hird now there's a name that takes me back. My granny used to play bingo with the guy who was in Black Lace (Ag-a-doo-doo-doo push pineapple....) so maybe this celeb hob nobbing is in my blood ;-)

Watch out for the paparazzi, fish.

I almost got run over by Kylie Minogue who was backing out of a one way street off Brunswick St in Melbourne years ago. Slapper...

How amazing that Noel Gallagher was so humble.

I LOVE Kathleen Turner.

Seriously.

I think I'm the only person on the planet who watched Romancing the Stone 50 times in a row.

and that other movie...the one where she plays the deranged housewife.

I might be the only person who's ever seen that movie at all.

...my claim to fame...bumping into Paula Abdul so hard that we both landed flat on our asses. Early 80s in Telluride, Co. don't be jealous....

Please let me refute your comment about Black Lace. Please don't call them Celebrities. Oohhh, I feel a headache coming on...sweats...nausea...

I thought I had forgotten about that hideous song - you can tell I have never visited Butlins, can't you?

Ha ha sorry Agnes, didn't mean to ruin your day by bring up BL. It won't happen again.

Heather cute image of you and Paula rebounding off each other. I love Kathleen Turner too. Are you thinking of 'Serial Mom' the John Waters movie. I've seen that too - the two of us and half the gay men in the US I imagine ;-)

Hey Artful, thanks for stopping by. Kylie is a fairly major celeb spot. I was pretty impressed by Noal Gallagher when she told me that. I've seen him shopping along Oxford St too though - when he was with Meg, she was a shopaholic that one - and he was very nice to the people who asked him for an autograph. Not as big a prat as his brother eh ;-)

I used to live in Burnage where the Gallagher brothers grew up. In fact my youngest sister was great mates with Noel but particularly with Bonehead (nice name!) who was also in Oasis. So I almost know them. Don't I?

My only claim to fame was being embarrassingly gushing with the lead singer of Hot Chocolate when I met him at a party ('Ooh, I think you are so lovely.') I still blush to think of it.

Hey Diane, thanks for stopping by. Errol Brown was a juicy piece of lusty pash, there is NOTHING to be embarrassed about :-)

Oooo, your celeb quota is certainly stacking up! I'm no good at recognising celebrities at all. I would have been like your friend with Noel Gallagher, thinking he was some random person I knew.

The closest thing to a claim to fame that I've got is that my aunt's dog had his photo taken with Johnny Morris. That makes me a mover and shaker in the celeb world in my book!

By the way, speaking of Sleepless in Seattle (yesterdays comment from the previous post), some woman literally RAN me over to rush over to Lowells in Pike Place Market to see where they filmed a scene for the movie. It was when Tom Hanks was sitting with Carl Riener in the cafe with the water view? Well, she screamed (in her thick southern accent) "That's where Tom Hanks sat!" and BOOM!! My back of groceries were on the floor...she didn't even stop, just kept right on going, taking pictures on the way. It was a strange conincidence that we were talking about that movie yesterday! I am starting to hate that movie!

Hi Amel - nice to see you again :-)

Alcoment - Oooh Johnny Morris he was a childhood favourite of mine :-)

Hey 206 - If I see on Access Hollywood that a woman has pelted Tom Hanks with oranges which she took from a bag labelled Pike Place Market I won't cop on it was you ;-)

That is funny about Noel. I swear, I am so unobservant I wouldn't know a celebrity if I tripped over one. And erm...well...let's just say where I am we can tend to get inundated?

I did meet Peter Murphy once. And yes, PA was a wee goth in her younger days. I shall indeed mention this when I stream some song to that effect.

Mr. Murphy is definitely as skinny as he looks. Or maybe even more so. Wow.

He was quite pleasant, however. Very nice. Quiet and very sweet.

I still love Bauhaus and some of his solo stuff. And yes, I'm 37 years old *laughing*
